Following the tremendous success of the first book, "100 Chess Problems for the Rest of Us" (consistently rated as one of the top 5 chess books on ), "Another 100 Chess Problems for the Rest of Us" continues where the original left off -- providing fun, educational chess problems specifically designed for intermediate players. Filled with even more diagrams and explanations than the original, this new book will be an even better chess-resource than the original.

Are you STILL . . . .
Tired of chess problems that are (often incredibly) way “over your head”?
The fact of the matter is that too many chess books are written for the higher echelons of the chess playing world. Even if not designed strictly for those in the Grandmaster status, too many chess books are designed for players that make up only the top 10% to 15% of the chess playing world. (Players who can think a good 7-10 moves ahead in any given game.)
This book is for the other 85% of us -- "The Rest of Us."
The book includes 100 Chess Problems for Novice/Intermediate players that -- while challenging the reader -- will never be leaps and bounds above the reader’s capabilities.
The book is filled with hundreds of graphs and long, narrative explanations that will not only show the reader the answer to the problem, but EXPLAIN the answer.
Designed strictly for them, all intermediate players will learn from this book and sharpen their chess playing skills.

I enjoyed both this and 100 Chess Problems for the Rest of Us very much. I am a chess tactics junkie, and have read just about every chess tactics book out there, and publish my own chess e-mail newsletter called "Tactics Time".I expected this book to be more of the same as the first one, but it is actually quite different. The format is the same, with the helpful problem then answer, problem then answer format (no more having to flip to the back to find the answer, which is nice). The diagrams are not going to win any awards for beauty (nor is the book cover), but they are good enough.
The problems in the first book were pretty bare bones, with almost every piece playing a role in the solution, and normally only one main variation. In the second book however they mostly look like they come from real games, so they are much more challenging, and sometimes have 2-3 variations to consider. There are more "distractions" that can hide the key idea that come from more pieces and pawns on the board.
The first book was mostly 1-2 moves. This book is mostly 2-5 moves, and some of the problems are quite challenging. With the first book I could get through the whole thing in about 2 hours with about 95% accuracy in solving the problems while having the tv on in the background (I am about 1800 USCF). This one took me a lot more time, and more than one sitting to get through. I will probably go through it one more time to make sure I really drilled all the patterns into my head, and can see them quickly.
Most of the problems in the first book had one main tactical idea. Many of these problems combine 1 or more tactical ideas (which is typical of how tactics work in the real world).
I didn't see any problems that were too odd. No "under promotion to bishop" or unrealistic composed problems, where black has all his pieces, and white just has a knight and still checkmates, etc.
So if you are looking for "more of the same" that was in the first book, it might be harder than you are expecting. If you are looking for an advanced version of the first book, and a more traditional tactics book, this is probably a good fit.
The first book was probably best for players in the 900-1500 Elo range (but useful to all). This is probably good for those at least 1200-1300 or so. So no longer really "the rest of us", but at least a typical "D" tournament level player who is already fairly good and mastered the building block ideas of the first book. Weaker players will still benefit though from reading it, and for the price you can't go wrong.
I didn't see as many little mistakes in the second book, which was nice, and the answers are very descriptive.
If a third one comes out, I will be sure to get it :-)

Another 100 Chess Problems for the Rest of Us edition by T E Klemm Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews
I've enjoyed and learned from these exercises (as a novice) but somehow somebody has to start publishing material designed for viewing. (It's difficult to see the board layouts graphically)
I bought this book because the first "100 chess problems for the Rest of Us" was great.
However, in this follow up book the pictures of the chessboard are too small to make reading this practical.
Sorry. I couldn't get past the first puzzle.
Awesome book for a beginner. Me and my kid had a good time with it, we could solve about 75% of the problems..
This is a great book for the amateur or novice chess player (like me!) The book provides clear answers and I've really enjoyed it. Recommended.
Tactics, that is the key to winning and thhis book will helkp you improve yours. I have not gone too far in the book yet as am working ion others but I think it is a good buy.
Good set of exercises for the average player.
Big problem is that with a monochrome (the usual type) the white pieces become almost invisible, small and fatiscent.
Too bad!
The problem with some books on chess in is that the answers to problems are given on the last pages, which are not easily accessed in e-books. In the present booklet, this has been taken care of. The answers are given on the next page or pages, so you can immediately go to them. Often the answers are given in steps, showing the board through the several stages of the solution. There's something here for many levels in the medium range of player ability.
